Introduction
Created as part of the MScBMC Biomedical Communications Technologies course, the project served as
both practice and proof of our organic 3D modeling skills. I chose a crocodile skink as the subject
for my sculpt for the intriguing sculpting challenges it poses, and also simply because it's cute.
The main challenge of this sculpt was achieving the ordered yet natural look of the crocodile
skink's larger spikes. A combination of manual sculpting, duplications, and manual adjustments was
used to sculpt these in a timely manner. To fully accentuate the finer details of the crocodile
skink, smaller spikes were brush sculpted on top of a displacement map.
